The marginalization and oppression of any group means we are not a truly free and democratic society. When liberation for one group comes at the cost of another, we are simply switching roles. This is not true equality.

When neurodivergent advocates post in support of other groups on social media, they’re often met with backlash. “Why are you posting about this, I thought this was a neurodiversity page?”

This is usually in response to posts supporting the 2s+LGBTQ community, immigrants, people of colour, people living in poverty, or people who are victims of violence.

If a neurodiversity (ND) page posts a funny off-topic meme or shares a cute story from another content creator, nobody bats an eye. It’s when we speak out against injustices which aren’t directly related to Autism, ADHD, and other divergent neurotypes that we get questioned.
