Frisson means a sudden strong feeling of excitement.
Music frisson refers to aesthetic chills and a psychophysiological response to music, inducing a pleasurable sensation (i.e. skin tingling), and sometimes causing goosebumps or pupil dilation.
If you search for 8D audio you’ll find cool compilations likely to induce frisson. You’ll also find videos of people reacting to 8D music and describing their experiences.
You may also find that a significant majority of these people are Autistic and ADHD. (I’m one of them.) I have an entire playlist entitled “stimmy music” which gives me frisson.
Why does some music give us chills?
8D music includes something called binaural beats: tones in each ear at slightly different frequencies, which can:
Help with sleep & relaxation
Reduce anxiety
Improve mood & focus
…Just feels good!
