An Anti-Capitalist Productivity Plan
Strategies for maintaining routines and help with transitions
A clarifying statement before getting started
This is not one of those “hack your ADHD!” or “optimize your productivity!” type of self-help, pop-psychology, capitalism-inspired articles.
My intent is not to encourage people to be more “productive members of society” — unless that is your personal goal for yourself.
My aim is to provide readers with neurodiversity-affirming resources and strategies which will help you accomplish things you want to accomplish for you.
What that means and what that looks like will be different for each person. However, if you’re looking for some kind of “increase your productivity in just three weeks!” program, this is definitely not that.
The information and strategies outlined here are based on empirical evidence as well as my professional and personal experience. There is no magic “system” that will solve all our problems, nor do I believe there should be. You’re not a broken person in need of fixing.
If you’re reading this, you’re likely a neurodivergent (ND) person in need of strategies specific to neurodivergent brains. While we all have different struggles, strengths, and needs, there are also commonalities which can inform the creation of ND-friendly tools.
The work with my clients focuses on their goals, what they want to prioritize in their own lives, not what others think they should be doing.
The ideas below are by no means exhaustive, they are only a few examples which can be amended and adapted to suit your individual preferences and needs.
